With each year, trends go in and out of style. Some turn out so great that they continue on, and some don’t last long at all. Trying something new is the key to starting the next trend and if you find that you don’t like the ending product, try again. Eventually you will find something you love. And who knows, others may like it too.
We are starting off right with this year’s top kitchen trends. All of these trends work great and allow for a nice clean look, but remain functional. Isn’t this what we all want in the end? As you begin your kitchen remodel, keep some of these ideas in mind as they will add the style and functionality that you want in your kitchen.
New Functionality
Just as new technology becomes available with appliances, the same can be said for cabinets. Some cabinet manufactures have created cabinets that work on hydraulic doors that fold up with the touch of a button. These fold up doors replace the traditional vertical doors, creating more space.
Color
What two color combinations never go out of style? If you guessed black and white, you would be correct. This color pattern has stood the test of time and will not likely leave the kitchen scene anytime soon. Colors palettes that contrast will normally make your kitchen pop. So you’re a fan of the black and white kitchens, however you want to add some color. The chairs and décor will add some much needed color, but another great piece that can be eye catchy is the sink. Many kitchens are trending away from the basic white or stainless steel. Having a colored sink allows you to use it as a focal point that can tie in the rest of the kitchens décor.
Automation
With the amount of technology in today’s home, it’s not uncommon to see that it has found its way into the kitchen. From hands free faucets to sensor-activated lights that turn on when the kitchen is being used, new technology is being created every day to make our lives easier.
Counter Tops
No longer do you only have a few options for your countertops. The different materials you can now get are endless. They can range from quartz to granite and laminate to wood. Heck, you don’t have to have just one! Different styles and colors will allow you to have a countertop that will not only go with your kitchen, but one you will love.
