We believe that the key to a bathroom is the vanity. This is where you’ll spend the most time. Whether you’re brushing your teeth, fixing your hair or admiring your outfit, the vanity will be your altar. The vanity is also where most of your storage space will be located. Choosing a bathroom vanity isn’t difficult, but there are a few things you need to be aware of. The more you get out of your vanity, the more you’ll get out of the entire bathroom.

Make Sure You’re Getting The Proper Size

When choosing a vanity, it’s important to measure for a few specific things. You want to make sure that your vanity doesn’t impede the opening or closing of doors. Whether that’s the bathroom door or shower door, it can’t get in the way. You also want to be sure that it’s easy to move around in your bathroom. If the vanity is too large, you’ll reduce space and increase the chances of banging a body part on the corner (if you don’t choose a round top). Lastly, you want to make sure that the vanity isn’t too close to the toilet. We recommend a minimum of eighteen inches from the edge of the vanity to the middle of the toilet.

Many vanities don’t come with the countertop and will need to be added to the foundation. You’ll need to take this in to account when measuring. Also, the location of your plumbing is very important. You’ll want to choose a vanity that won’t force you to move your plumbing. This can be a costly endeavor.

Consider The Shape

Vanities generally come in rectangular, square or round shapes. For large bathrooms, the shape doesn’t matter as much, you just want to choose what you like best. However, in a small bathroom, we recommend round vanities. Round vanities don’t take up as much area and making walking through the bathroom easier.

We hope that this article has helped you in choosing a bathroom vanity. Keep these tips in mind and you’ll love your vanity for years and years to come.
