You look at your kitchen and decide it’s time to change its look without breaking the bank. Until you have the time and funds to complete that dream kitchen remodel, there are several smaller projects you can complete that will take less time, require less funds, and can drastically change the look of your kitchen.
One word that can really help a kitchen’s look… Paint. Painting the space between countertops and the cabinets can rework the overall look of your kitchen. If the backsplash choice is what you really want, you can paint an accent wall to make a focal point in the kitchen. Paint can also be used to do larger projects like the kitchen’s furniture. The kitchen’s island and cabinets, which are the most visible elements of the room, can easily be revamped with a great coat of paint. There are special paints that can be used in the kitchen that are resistant to stains and household products, so there is no need to hesitate about the job being ruined after completion. This change, when done correctly, will be noticeable, but in a great way!
After you finished painting your “new” cabinets, you can change out the knobs and handles. These cabinet accessories come in unlimited colors, styles, and materials that allow you to customize your kitchen. If you have a dining area in your kitchen, the same principle applies to the table and chairs. The chairs can have more of an effect on a room more so than the table, so keep in mind a bold design when choosing the perfect seat. To accompany the table and chairs, a mat or two can make the kitchen more welcoming.
While we are adding pieces that makes the area more desirable, try adding a clock and trashcan that goes with the rest of the kitchen. Adding a clock will quickly dress up a wall and personalize the room at the same time. Most people view the trashcan as place to hold trash, and should be as hidden as possible. While the first part is true, instead of hiding it, expose it and pick a colorful and striking shape to accent the area.
