Natural stone has been used as flooring for centuries, dating back to 2500 BC and can be seen in extraordinary buildings all over the world adding a majestic touch. Now who wouldn’t want some royalty in there house.

Unlike ceramic or other manufactured products, stone tile flooring will differ from piece to piece ensuring each customer that they will have a unique flooring. Stone is a porous material that can be easily fixed by applying a sealant which will make the stone virtually indestructible, making this flooring a great choice. Also in our warmer climate, it provides a cool sensation when walked on that won’t be uncomfortable in the winter. If you feel that it will be too cool during the winter months, heated flooring can be installed. Natural stone flooring, when done correctly, will increase your home’s resale value and unlike other flooring it improves with age.

The following are the most common forms of stone tile flooring that we offer:

Slate

This stone does not burn or stain that is durable enough for indoor and outdoor use. Due to the porous consistency, slate requires frequent resealing and should not be placed in areas of the house where water or grease may concentrate. This stone is not as expensive as granite or marble but allows the home to feel classy.

 

Travertine

Travertine is one of the most frequently used stones in todays architecture and home design because it’s functionality and attractiveness. It is said that the stone is a poorer relative of marble; it looks similar but is not as costly. Biggest drawbacks are the slipperiness when wet and is prone to damage from acid based products.

 

Limestone

Limestone comes in a variety of colors and appearances that is more affordable when comparing to other stone floors. This stone is low maintenance and is stain resistant. Many designers like to use it in modern house styles.

 

Marble

Marble is prone to staining and scratching, but if finished properly with a stain resistant sealer, this stone will last a lifetime. It comes in a wide variety of colors, patters, shapes, and sizes that works well in bathrooms and spas, but the stone is not a great choice for outside use.

 

Granite

Granite is a tough and easy to clean, so it great in kitchens and bathrooms.  Due to its hardness, this stone is also great for floors and it cost less than other types of stone. This stone comes is shiny, matte, or textured finishes.
